Review Policy

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME OFFERING REVENUE MAKING OPPORTUNITIES OR WAYS TO INCREASE MY BLOG TRAFFIC. THIS BLOG IS RUN AS A HOBBY, NOT A BUSINESS AND I HAVE NO INTEREST IN MAKING MONEY FROM IT. EMAILS OF THAT NATURE WILL BE DELETED AND WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TO.

I try to review everything I read although I have a policy not to review anything that I feel to be below a 3 star rating on the blog as I truly believe that even though it may not be to my taste, every book has its audience, even if it is not me.

My reading preference is for the following:

Crime/Thriller/Action
Contemporary fiction
RomCom/Chick Lit.

If your books fall outside of these genres, this is probably not the blog for you. However, if you do not mind books being reviewed by my guest reviewer, then we are open to most genres apart from those mentioned below.

No Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels

Publication Date (and time-frame when posting a review would be acceptable)

Unsolicited emails containing links to third party sites, even Amazon or Goodreads, will be deleted.

I accept books formatted for Kindle, PDF, plus Paperback or Hardback editions. Reviews will be posted here on my blog, on my Twitter page @JenMedBkReviews ; on Facebook: www.facebook.com/jenmedbookreviews/ ; GoodReads and Amazon.

I will endeavour to review all books I receive although due to my full time job I cannot guarantee to accept a book for review or provide a guaranteed timescale for reading, so if you require a review for a specific date then please be clear in your requests and I will be able to make a realistic judgment on whether I can accommodate that in my planning.

I accept requests from both traditionally published and independent authors. It doesn’t matter to me how your book found its way into the world. It is merely the quality of the writing I am looking for so indies, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. However please note that due to the volume of requests I receive, I will only respond to requests if I think I can accommodate a review.

Book Ratings

I do not publish reviews of books which I personally rate less than 3 stars on GoodReads or Amazon or this blog, although I will provide feedback to the author/publisher. I will continue to recognise books which I feel truly are the best of the best by awarding my Red Hot Read badge.

Reserved for the books which I truly believe deserve top exposure and recognition. Excellent writing, compelling characters and just bloody well made me smile. Highly likely to end up in my Bookvent list.
