Review: Quick Reads – Inspector Chopra & The Million Dollar Motorcar by Vaseem Khan @mgriffiths163

Another Quick Reads review today, this time for Vaseem Khan’s Inspector Chopra and the Million Dollar Motorcar. I loved this series and so any chance for a cheeky short story is more than welcomed. Again, Mandie and I shared reviewing duties on this one.

ICATMDMCThe Official Book Blurb

An enchanting Baby Ganesh Agency short story: a million-dollar car is missing. Chopra has two days to find it, or the gangster who bought it will not be happy.

The Premier No.1 Garage is the place to go in Mumbai if you want a luxury car. Even Mumbai’s biggest gangster shops there – he’s just ordered a classic race car worth millions.

But now the car is gone. Stolen from a locked room, in the middle of the night.

Who stole it? The mechanic who is addicted to gambling? The angry ex-worker? The car thief pulling off one last job?

And how on earth did they make it vanish from the locked garage?

Inspector Chopra has just days to find the culprit – and the missing car – before its gangster owner finds out … and takes violent revenge.

#Blogtour: Follow The Snowflakes by Angelina Kerner @KernerAngelina @shanannigans81

Today it’s my great pleasure to be joining the blog tour for the new novella author Angelina Kerner, Follow The Snowflakes. Before I share my thoughts on the book, let’s take a look at what it’s about.

FTSThe Official Book Blurb

At 28, it’s bad to be single. After four years of relationship struggles, Cat is ready to try anything.

That’s when her friend tells her about her class’ Dear Santa letters. One little boy asked for a new mommy, and she suggests Cat meets the kid’s dad, just to see where things go. Cat figures it can’t hurt…until she meets a stranger in the midst of a car accident. The man is handsome with a sad look in his eyes. He still wears a wedding band and she’s not sure his heart’s available, even if he makes her heart race. But, maybe he’s a widower?

Cat wonders if she should resign herself to being an old maid, or whether she could possibly be the answer to a little boy’s Christmas wish, unless there’s a third option – a future with the stranger.

#Review: The Strange Disappearance of a Bollywood Star by Vaseem Khan @VaseemKhanUK @1stMondayCrime

Today it’s my third and final review in the Inspector Chopra/Baby Ganesh Detective Agency series for First Monday Crime. I’ve really enjoyed catching up with Chopra and Baby Ganesha his rather unusual partner in crime-fighting and this was another brilliant book. I’ll tell you my thoughts in just a moment, as soon as we’ve seen what the book is all about.

IC3The Official Book Blurb

The enchanting new Baby Ganesh Agency novel sees Inspector Chopra and his elephant sidekick investigating the dark side of Bollywood.

Mumbai thrives on extravagant spectacles and larger-than-life characters.

But even in the city of dreams, there is no guarantee of a happy ending.

Rising star and incorrigible playboy Vikram Verma has disappeared, leaving his latest film in jeopardy. Hired by Verma’s formidable mother to find him, Inspector Chopra and his sidekick, baby elephant Ganesha, embark on a journey deep into the world’s most flamboyant movie industry.

As they uncover feuding stars, failed investments and death threats, it seems that many people have a motive for wanting Verma out of the picture.

And yet, as Chopra has long suspected, in Bollywood the truth is often stranger than fiction…

Part two in my series of reviews for First Monday Crime sees me review The Perplexing Theft Of The Jewel In The Crown. Again, I listened to the audio book version and once more I wasn’t disappointed. I’ll tell you my thoughts on the book in a moment, as soon as we’ve seen what this book is all about.

IC2The Official Book Blurb

The second book in the heartwarming and charming Baby Ganesh series.

For centuries the Koh-i-Noor diamond has set man against man and king against king.

Now part of the British Crown Jewels, the priceless gem is a prize that many have killed to possess.

So when the Crown Jewels go on display in Mumbai, security is everyone’s principal concern. And yet, on the very day Inspector Chopra visits the exhibition, the diamond is stolen from under his nose.

The heist was daring and seemingly impossible. The hunt is on for the culprits. But it soon becomes clear that only one man – and his elephant – can possibly crack this case…
