So … I caved. I purchased the last two Mr Men and Little Miss for Grown Up books and you know what? I’m totally glad I did. They were a real hoot. The final two books are Little Miss Busy Surviving Motherhood and Mr Greedy Eats Clean to Get Lean. Here is what they are all about.
The Mr. Men have been tickling children for generations with their funny and charming antics. The Mr Men for Grown-Ups series now gives adults the chance to laugh along as the Mr Men and Little Miss try to cope with the very grown-up world around them. Featuring Roger Hargreaves classic artwork alongside hilariously funny new text.
Mr Greedy loves to eat, but when everyone around him seems to be juicing and exercising, he decides it’s time to make some changes. Will Mr Greedy get lean with the help of his friends?
The perfect book for anyone who’s ever tried to kick start their life with a diet which promises a new improved you.
Little Miss Busy hadn’t always been so busy. She used to enjoy lazy weekends and leisurely lie-ins. But then she had kids. Now her life is a constant juggle of demands and pressure to be the perfect mum. How does Little Miss Busy do it?
The perfect book for anyone who has ever faced the trials and tribulations of the wonderful and exasperating world of parenthood.
If you are looking for a perfect stocking filler for the over stretched parent or incessant dieter in your life, then you could do worse than pick up on of these beauties. Oh these books really did make me chuckle.
From the very first page of Little Miss Busy I was laughing. I instantly recognised the stress of parenthood from some Twitter conversations I’d been involved in earlier than day, any from then on in every single page resonated. I may not be a mother (thank god) but I recognised pretty much every parent I had ever met in those pages and I am sure that many a mother (and father) will read this book and just say Yes!!! That is it. Absolutely 100% it.
As for Mr Greedy – ha!. Haven’t we all been there. The absolute surety that we will find the perfect diet for us. Believe me – all the major fads are covered. And then the last pages … wonderful. You know, I can totally relate to Mr Greedy but his final solution to his dieting problems are exactly the solution I have been secretly deploying for the past twelve months. At some stage I realise I shall have to get off my fat bum and do some real exercise, but for now Mr Greedy’s diet tips will do.
Along with Mr Happy at the Office Party and Little MIss Shy Goes Online dating, these books are a really great little set, pitching the Mr Men and Little Miss characters into everyday situations that we can all identify with – however frightening that may be.
