#BookLove – Sarah Hardy @sarahhardy681

Book Love (1)

Well I am absolutely delighted to host Sarah Hardy on the blog today. For those of you who don’t know Sarah (and quite honestly, where have you been?) she blogs on By The Letter Book Reviews as well as being a very busy bee for Bloodhound Books. But before we hear all of Sarah’s #booklove confessions, here is a little bit more about the lady in question.

About Sarah

SH.jpg

Hi I’m Sarah and I LOVE to read. Due to my love of reading I thought I would start my own blog so I could share my thoughts of all the books I read with other readers/bloggers/authors and publishers.

I read many genres of books, new and old. The only ones you may not find me reading many of are fantasy and sci fi as unfortunately they are not my cup of tea.

You can follow Sarah on the following sites

Childhood Sweetheart
Favourite book from childhood

I loved reading as a child which Enid Blytons were a firm favourite but I have to admit Sue Townsends, Adrian Mole books are the ones that I still look back fondly on so they are the ones I’m going to go with.

First love
The first book you fell in love with

Has to be Little Women though there have been many. I just loved the relationship of the sisters and found it a very comforting book

LW

Biggest book crush
The book character you’re totally in love with

Edward who is in the books by Craig Lancaster. He is such a wonderful character and just love him to bits and love reading about him.

Weirdest book crush
Well… duh

Edward from the Twilight series. Then again it could be because of who played him in the films as I actually watched the first film before reading the books. It did make me feel like a teenager again.

T

Hardest break up
The book you didn’t want to end

There have been loads but I guess it has to be the Harry Potter series as I felt like a proud mother reading of the characters as they grew and was very sad when it came to an end as they have been a big part of our lives for awhile now.

The one that got away
The book in your TBR or wish list that you regret not having started yet.

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. Have had it quite a while now and have heard lots of great things about it but just not had a chance to read it yet.

Secret love
Guilty Reading pleasure

Probably chick lit books. Ive always enjoyed them but my definite favourite is crime/thrillers but love to delve into a great chick lit every now and again

CL.jpeg

Love one, love them all
Favourite series or genre

Crime/thrillers without a doubt though I do read a few different ones. Ranging from non fictions, holocaust, fictions, ya, chick lit but crime/thrillers are my firm favorites

Alice final

Your latest squeeze
Favourite read of the last 12 months

I will go with The Abattoir of Dreams by Mark Tilbury which is the most recent I have read and absolutely loved it.

Blind date for a friend
If you were to set a friend up with a blind date (book) which one would it be?

Ooh this is such a tough one. Probably Robert Bryndzas Erika Foster series or Malcolm Hollingdrakes Cryril Bennett series as they are something that will be around for a while and not just a one night stand lol

Greatest love of all
Favourite book of all time.

Another really tough one. Probably The Harry Potter series as they are wonderful books I would love to one day go back and re read.

Thanks Sarah. A brilliant selection of books there. Adrian Mole! Totally a blast from the past there. And Pandora Braithwaite. Didn’t she have a thing for Tony Benn lol. Love it. And a bit more #PotterLove too. I think Little Women might be this month’s Flowers In The Attic, but thankfully I’ve already read Little Women so don’t need to add to the tbr…

What are your thoughts everyone? Sarah is a big crime fan as you can see but are there any series you would recommend to her? And what are your thoughts on Adrian Mole?

Have a brilliant weekend all. Hope you get lots of reading done.

  1. Seeing Twilight in that list really took me by surprise! 😄

I’d mention Little Women too, to be honest. Such a lovely book.

As for series, I’m sure Sarah knows them all. Obviously the ones by Sarah Hilary and Michael Wood but maybe also the Joseph Stark series by Matthew Frank. There’s only two so far so easy to get caught up on.

  2. Ah Adrian Mole brings back memories, and yes Pandora! I too loved Enid Blyton books.
Good question about a blind date book, I’m not sure what I would choose for that question.
    Nice to hear Sarah’s answers.
