Book Love (1)

Today it gives me great pleasure to welcome Sam from Clues and Reviews Book blog. Sam is here to help spread a little more #BookLove.

About Sam

SamI am a book obsessed teacher with has a serious book-a-day novel addiction.  Although I am a little bit obsessed with the mystery/thriller genre, I also find myself reading books in the horror, contemporary romance, and chick-lit genre as well! Basically,  I have been on the hunt for amazing books for as long as I can remember.

I love perusing book blogs for inspiration for my next read so I figured that I would take a crack at helping others find theirs!

With a monstrous TBR pile, I love to know other people’s recommendations so please let me know your favourites!

Childhood Sweetheart
Favourite book from childhood

I always loved the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary.  She always was kind of mess and trying to do the right thing; I totally related to that (and I guess, I can still relate to it now!).  She was just such a well developed, real character.  I used to write Beverly Cleary fan mail ALL THE TIME telling her I wanted to be a writer.

Ram

First love
The first book you fell in love with

Flowers in the Attic by V.C Andrews.  My mom bought me a copy at a used bookstore when I was eight and I devoured that book.  It was so scandalous and dark!  I still have that copy and have read it so often, it barely has any of the front pages.

FITA

Biggest book crush
The book character you’re totally in love with

I have always been, and will continue to be, in love with Laurie from Little Women

LW

Weirdest book crush
Well… duh

Joe from Caroline Kepne’s YOU.  He is a serial killer, and yet, I was oddly attracted to him.  So that’s weird…and scary.

Y

Hardest break up
The book you didn’t want to end

I just read The One by John Marrs and I could have read that one forever!

TO

The one that got away
The book in your TBR or wish list that you regret not having started yet.

EVERYTHING!  I am notorious for buying books on release day and then having them sit on my shelf as I buy others.

I have been wanting to start so many, I guess, off the top of my head, I would have to go with I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh.  Everyone keeps telling me that I am going to love it, but I keep getting all distracted.

ILYG

Secret love
Guilty Reading pleasure

I love romance novels.  Love them. Especially anything by Nora Roberts.  She is my favourite.

TO

Love one, love them all
Favourite series or genre

I am always attracted to thriller, mystery and suspense titles.   They completely overrun my TBR piles; I also read some horror.  Anything dark and a little twisty, I usually enjoy.

Your latest squeeze
Favourite read of the last 12 months

Well, in the last twelve months I have read over 200 books, so this is tricky.  The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel was amazing, The Devil Crept by Ania Ahlborn was one of my top favs, The One by John Marrs, Baby Doll by Hollie Overton…I could go on all day! I have read some seriously awesome books lately.

Blind date for a friend
If you were to set a friend up with a blind date (book) which one would it be?

I always make people read The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson.  So it would likely be that!

TKWK

Greatest love of all
Favourite book of all time.

My favourite book of all time is a random choice, The Great Gatsby. I just love it.

TGG

Oooh. Some repeat books here now folks and after three recommendations, I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and read Flowers In the Attic. Can you believe I’ve never read it?

What do you think? Any books here feature in your #BookLove lists? Make sure to come back next week when I’ll have more Book Love from Joanne Baird from Portobello Book Blog and Katrina Hart.

Have a fabulous day of reading all

JL
