#Bookvent – Celebrating my favourite reads of 2016.
My choice of #bookvent number 13 took some debating. I have two books by the same author which I absolutely loved and I’ve had to go back to previous reviews to see just which one I loved more. I know I could have chosen both over two days but with so many fab books to choose from, I’m trying to be very, very picky. It all came down to lasagne verses completely psychotic and unremorseful bad guys. Naturally, I’m inherently evil myself and so the pyschotic bad guys won 😉 Book number 13 is
All Fall Down
by Tom Bale
Now I really did love ‘See How They Run‘, so narrowing down the two to just the one was extremely hard. It is probably the dark edge to this book which won me over. I do like a very twisted plot and the the bad guys in this are about as twisted as they come. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t say that you like any of the characters in this book. Well maybe one of the twins, but really no-one else. They lie, they cheat, they break the law. They all have some pretty big skeletons in their closets. They all become victims and the tension Tom Bale brings to the second half of the book is on occasion almost unbearable. It had me staring at the page in disbelief. I have no nails or I’d have been biting those. I loved it.

Happy reading all
