#Bookvent – Celebrating my favourite reads of 2016.
The fifth book in my #Bookvent calendar is a beautiful story published by Orenda that I listened to, rather than read, way back in June. Set in picturesque Cornwall, the hauntingly beautiful depiction of the landscape draws the reader in, the setting as large a part of the story as any of the characters. It is a story of contrasts. It is the story of Bella, who upon her Mother’s death uncovers a devastating family secret, is a thing of real beauty. Perfectly paced, it delivers twists and surprises that will both delight and devastate the reader. A truly moving story that has stayed with me since I fist listened, this was the first signed book I encouraged my sister to buy, and I absolutely stand by that recommendation to this day.
